New PFL headlights 'discontinued' ?

This isn't meant to be a scaremongering post, but I tried to purchase some new pfl headlights from TCB earlier today. Paul Pridham couldn't give an immediate response but suspected there was a supply problem, many hours later he got back to me stating that they appear to be Discontinued at his source.

I suppose something like this was bound to happen at some point or other, assuming that he isn't able to do a workaround.

* updated* this is from Toyota themselves who have discontinued stocking/selling

I am surprised they were not discontinued much earlier. There is always salvage.
This is a two decade old car which is a very long time in automotive years. Fortunately the car doesn't look so out of date like 80s and 90s cars looked like ten years after production.

Again all relative Dev; the fist gen Saab 900 unintentionally looked a neo classic when it was released. It now has cult status, is even called the 900 classic.
Same thing any 911 released during the past well, four decades.
US examples are the Mustang and Challenger.
Out of date can thus also be dubbed timeless  :))
The Corvette being the other extreme proving in effect the same point.

Out of date or dated doesn't mean that it looks bad. On the contrary all of the newer cars lack natural character so much so after 2007 they all look the same and are getting uglier. This is certainly not a good thing.  Its so bad that with some of the cars you pointed out they have to go retro and still seem to screw  up the original design.

I know Dev; I am well past my sell by date, but mán do I look góód... bwahahahaha LOL.

Well I suppose there could be a bright side to this(shocking unintended pun) it's made me buy a headlight polisher with a few bits n pieces to go with it eg https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075KFP3H5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So for roughly £70 outlay I can maintain the headlights on all of the stable. FL headlight replacement is prohibitively expensive at well over £500, and I have one of those in need of a damned good polish also

I must have missed the boat by about a week!

There must be some stock still somewhere in Japan.

They are possibly referring to the warehouse in Belgium?

No, original post is correct, as of about 2 months ago.

LHD still available yes. Not cheap of course but available.

Mine has a new left one and a polished right side. The insurance only paid for the one busted by the SUV ´driver´. Am not forking out to have the pair matched as that would still mean me out of pocket for the damage. I will see it as another aspect of ´sabi´.

TCB contacted me yesterday to say they have sourced some  :) I didn't ask Paul Pridham from where, but for ~ £286, that makes this new source even cheaper than previously the case. Needless to say :- ordered.

Chilli Girl

I never realised that @Gibla - quite abit cheaper, almost two for the price of one FL.  I wonder if @mde1982 might be interested although I've seen worse than Sapphire's pair.
Ex owners of Chilli red facelift 52 reg called Chilli, silver 55 reg called Foxy and blue pfl W reg MR-S called Sapphire. Now 2 less!

SuperArt

I paid around £400 new from Steven Eagell Toyota dealer some years ago.
They still look brand new with no signs of wear. New lights are definitely the way to go.
