Occasional load clunk from aircon clutch ??

I meant to post this ages ago, very occasionally I am hearing a pretty loud clunk noise when the ac compressor clicks in, I'd say is happened about 4 or 5 times over 2 years or so and is always when starting the car with aircon switched on, or when car is running and aircon is switched on (only once).

Volume is about as loud as when you firmly shut a door just to be clear on volume.

Aircon works fine, and I can hear the clutch clicking in and out ('muffled yelp which is just about audible if your listening for it'), so everything is working OK its just an occasional clunk.

I have never really understood how these magnetic ac clutches work, so maybe its normal for them to clunk once in a while if they have engaging teeth which miss on the first turn or something ?

Just thought I would mention it as I'm sure someone on here can explain !
