Highest mileage

Who has the highest mileage on the forum? My '2 is about hit 80k which I thought was quite a lot for a roadster. Anyone out there that can beat that?

Pre cats gutted at 14k
Currently got 20500miles on the clock
Never used any oil.
No rattles (engine wise)
Ex MR2 Roadster Turbo (seven years) now 997 Porsche Carrera 4 GTS

only rattles are door cards when i turn the stereo up really loud

my door cards rattle as well when it's on loud!

No oil used
No rattles at all (probably because I don't have any heat shields on!)

Snap, did try and remove precats but bolts were rusted and i tried too hard and took the head off most of em  :-) :-) :-)

But a rattle from the top end and 2.5K revs

Much work done, but source nover idetified.

Second engine (from 40k odd)

No pre cats  (thanks again Mark)

No oil loss
No heat shields (haven't got rid of the sheared bolts yet)

Very low idle! but no rattles

80k alot?  does this mean the life of the roadster isnt that great?  i do alot of driving so this will be very bad news for me, my last car i had at 120,000

Only 'cos they are normally bought as second/weekend/track cars possibly?

Want 120,000 no problems? buy a Volvo diesel!   s:D :D s:D

reason i ask is the 2 will be my main car

Nah - These cars should last a long time, but as stated above not many people use them as everyday cars, thus most are relatively low milage, although that also bring's it's own problems.

I've got no need to change mine, it looks like new, has done about 78k and i'm goona extend the warranty and keep running it.

The car should run indefinately, as long as you have the block replaced !!

how can you get a new warranty? can i just go to mr t for this?
