I bought a wash mitt from Halfrauds today which was cheaper than the meguiars ultimate wash mitt I've had my eye on but couldn't be arsed to order (by about 5 quid) but why oh why didn't I buy one years ago (excepting the fact they weren't invented then s:lol:  s:lol: ). Bloody excellent bit of kit and makes washing the odd angles of the '2 so much easier. Also bought a wheel brush and sod me - I never knew the back of the wheels could look so clean s:oops:  s:oops:
If you haven't got one - BUY ONE.
Apart from drying cloths (which will be the next purchase to replace my aging chamois and will be a meguiars one), does anyone have top washing tips or kit everyone should own?
the flash system is actually very good, basically it deionises the water on the water on the final rinse leaving the car streak free.
also, a fantastic piece of labour saving kit i picked up 7 years ago, its called the wife! s:twisted:  s:twisted:
I used to have one ages ago until I tried cleaning it with my pressure washer......Not a good idea s:wink:  s:wink:

Discounts galore as well...use one of the many recommended companies on the site - they are all (usually) cheaper than retail and give member discounts.
Slightly off topic, I've recently got a new chamois leather and only used it 4-5 times, it leaves lots of yellow bits on the car. What can I do to stop this? I've tried the rinsing and washing in warm water and always do before using. Is it something that stops once the leather gets a bit more worn?
A chamois can strip the wax off your car. You need to get a Megs water magnet or something similar.
I think some new chamois cloths do leave yellow bits for a while but once the surface has all cracked off it'll be fine, try wrining the crap out of and generally giving it a hard time to loose the bits off early. Or get a water magnet and tell me if it's any good s:wink:  s:wink:

It's all I use - 1000% better than a chamois. Do the whole car and you don't have to wring it out at all.
Because its different from a chamois, wringing doesn't actually dry it, and TBH it can get quite damp, depending on how much water is left on the surface.
If I am not going to do anything else like a detail spray, polish or wax I go over again with a second dry one.
