As I along with others are having the TTE Turbo fitted, SP have told me that the manifold with pre-cats is replaced and is therefore surplus to requirements.
Would this manifold be of any use to use as a spare in an exchange programme for pre-cat removal?
Then any member who is unsure about their ability to gut the pre-cats could ask for the "empty" manifold and send their manifold containing pre-cats for gutting for the next member. Then if I understand it correctly it is just a case of removal and replacement of parts.
Obviously a small donation to the club would be in order.
If this is a really dumb idea then just tell me.

great idea but please start a new thread for this, and the person who has the manifol post on here who they've sent the it to (no addresses, just usernames). Just to keep track of the spare manifold
I think I may have misled a few people.
All I was offering was to donate my manifold including pre-cats for "somebody" to gut and then exchange with ROC members manifolds and so on..... so each member can carry out there own removal and replacement of their manifold or alternatively get Joe Bloggs garage to do it for them.
I was not offering (or did not intend to offer s:wink: :wink: s:wink: ) to be the "gutter" because as I've said on many a post I'm as good as useless in the mechanics department.
So if it's a viable idea we need a volunteer to accept my manifold, gut it and then offer the exchange facility, each time gutting the returned manifold and carry on exchanging. Obviously carraige costs would need to be covered between volunteer and member and vice verser plus a small donation to Club funds.

to be honest gutting is teh easy bit, the hard bit is getting it off teh car
best bet woudl be to gut it (all you need is a hammer, screwdriver or even easier power drill)
send it out
next person swaps it with thiers, guts there own and send s it back out to the next
Once someone does get it the gutting is the easy part. hammer drill and a masonry bit and about 10 mins of your time, only tricky bit is the removal of the manifold from the car dur to the bolts and studs, breaking and snapping.
