My 2003 Smt has tonight just started to creep forward when you engage 1st or go backwards when in reverse without any throttle ,there is a screech when you go from 1st to 2nd
would happen on a friday night

Sounds very much like the clutch isn't disengaging properly.
Unfortunately, as it's all computer controlled you're limited as to what you can do without the diagnostic system.
For starters:
Check that the clutch reservoir isn't empty.
Try bleeding the clutch actuators (if possible)
Then you're pretty much stuck taking it to Toyota I reckon.
2003 model should still be covered by warranty anyway (as long as it was registered after march 11th 2003 s:wink: :wink: s:wink: )
