Morning all,
Not entirely sure if this is an issue but thought I'd ask people who know. I've been driving around in my new 9 month old mr2 and the gearbox is starting to annoy me slightly when it comes to changing gears (first 4 only).
Basically, when I'm sat stationary at lights etc flicking between the gears is very sotth and easy but as soon as I need to change gears in motion, changing to 2nd and 3rd (and 1st when nearly stationary) feels quite "grindy" if that makes any sense. It's like the car sometimes doesn't want to be put in that particular gear and it's sometimes a bit of effort.
Before my mr2, I was driving a Golf and that was quite smooth so it could be just that I'm really crap at changing gears or is it something more than that?
Does anyone else have this and is it a common part of the car? or does everyone have nice smooth transitions between gear?
I'm taking it to a dealer on wednesday to sort out a host of other problems that have developed. Was just wondering if this is something I should bring up as well.

Mine can be a little stiff getting it into 1st while still moving when cold, but other than that I thought the gearbox was really good s:? :? s:?

Definately bring it up with your dealer, and see what they say.
