Can someone lead me to the Inlet air temp sensor, i want to fit a performance enhancing chip, or at least try it but it asks you to locate the Inlet Airp Temp sensor or engine coolant temp sensor.
Its the the Celox permoance chip, as I have fitted a Blitz induction kit and TTE twin exhausts I would like to send more fuel to compensate for the added air inflow.
Thanks for your help.
Paul.
Chip? Sounds like one of those resistors to me. The air temp sensor is an intergrated part of the MAF - it sits on top of the pipe connecting the airbox to the throttlebody. Use these things at your own risk IMO.
Dont...
All your enhancing is your engines thirst for fuel...
Sorry mate, but you jsut fell for " Ye Old 2p resistor for a fiver" scam

The several hundred pounds worth of Computer that runs your engine already does just that.. messing with its inputs will just make it run worse, never, ever will it run better...
If you want to get the best from your mods, you need to get a Unichip, which will allow a dyno operator with very- very sesnitve measuring equipment to adjust your engines fuelling and ingnition timing for several hundred points through the rev range for varying loads and at varying throttle positions. All your doing with your resistor mod is fooling the engine into thinking the air is about 20 degrees cooler than it actually is. This makes it run richer in open loop, which, at lest with my car, is the opposite of what was needed to make more power.
Put it this way, it's the exact equal of leaving the choke on all the time on your dads old car. I'm sure you'll remember weather that made the car go faster or run like a bag of bolts... s:wink:  s:wink:
