Title: Does This Fit The Sony Headunit??
Post by: Anonymous on April 24, 2006, 19:54

I've had one in the cupboard for a few years and never got round to fitting it on my old car, will it fit straight into the Sony Single Disc Player in my 2??

If so does any one know where I can get the mounting bit for the back of it as it is only double sided black tape that is on it and I think there should also be a little plastic holder, I may be wrong.

I think this in the plastic bag might be what i'm looking for??  m http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SONY-REMOTE-JOYST ... dZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SONY-REMOTE-JOYSTICK-CONTROL_W0QQitemZ9717210289QQcategoryZ1498QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) m

I think I know which bit you mean on the back, for a clear look at the back of the Sony without removing it, see this thread

That pic is the back of the Sony in my 2000 car.

Hi Daz, you have selected the right items there - I really miss mine - I have a hand held remote now....how stupid is that!

Most Sony head units take the 'remote commander' as it's officially called.  Search on the tinternet for your head unit and you should find out.

The mounting thingy on ebay looks different to the one that came with mine.

Be careful how much you spend on the two together though.  Total them up and you get to nearly 20 quid, and the auctions not finished yet.

I bought mine online, brand new with warranty, for £25 delivered a month or so ago from Ray Smith, who's in your neck of the woods I believe. (Well, Glasgow   s:wink:  s:wink:  )

No I already have the remote control stock thing but it is the back that I am missing only so that is all I need to buy or source elsewhere.

If that is the back of the stock stereo, where does it plug into and do I need to remove the unit or is there away of getting in the back without taking it out???

Thanks for your help
