Title: Good driving roads
Post by: Anonymous on October 26, 2003, 10:50
Since the MR2 is such a good driver's car, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to good driving roads.  I live in the South East of England and although there are some nice country roads, by and large it is hugely over populated and quite busy.

I recently returned from a driving tour of Switzerland and Italy, which was ideal for the MR2 but surely there must be something good closer to home.

Any ideas?

I've found some good ones round here, most of the suggestions came from local motorbike clubs.

There's loads of information on scenic drives in the US on the web but the precious few relating to the UK.

The only place I have found is on the AA's site at the following link.

The routes in the south east are very nice.

Hope that helps.

If not, you could try contacting your local biking groups... one bunch I know about are the motorcycle arm of the IAM.  They often go out for runs around the countryside.  Contact the local group and I'm sure they'd offer you some advice (http://www.iam.org)

Those who attended the Chelmsford meet know that there are some good bendy roads around the Essex area, let us know where you are and I am sure that the gang on here will advise!
