There is also one in Spain, a friend of mine that also have an MR2 saw one in Madrid.

Next summer if you want whe can do an MR2 GT300 Europe meeting.
I will probably repeat my road trip to Germany (and maybee do a visit to Lampka for a Turbo kit install   s:twisted:  s:twisted:  ).

After that visit Nurburgring and on the way back home do a "small" visit to England.

I installed the wheels today and i drove the car for a couple of km's.
I didn't felt much diference on the steering wich is good, because that was the thing that i was more worry about.

Brand new tires so i will have to do some km's to get rid of all the gummy that it's on the tire.

Here are some photos i took some minutes ago

(sorry pictures removed from the server)

Tomorrow morning i will leave the car on the paint shop.

I expect to have the car ready next weekend

Post by: MadMigMR2 on October 29, 2003, 20:00
Today at lunch i made a visit to the paint shop to see how the work was going
To my surprise, everything was almost ready to paint and they will paint all the parts today.
Tomorrow morning they will start to install the kit and if everything runs ok, the car will be ready tomorrow

Here are some pictures from the car without the panels

Bless her she looks all naked sat there   s:D :D s:D

Are they painting your doors or are they hoping that the colour matches perfectly without? Silver is a really hard colour to match sometimes.

The wheels look great can i ask what they cost?

I know one person that aint going to sleep too well tonight   s:wink:  s:wink:  xmas early for you this year.

Post by: MadMigMR2 on October 29, 2003, 23:20
The wheels weren't cheap. 2000€ for the custom set.
It was the cheapest option i found   s:( :( s:(  but they wheight 9kg each (20 pounds)   s:shock:  s:shock:

I'm still searching for some 15" or 16" light height with the offset i need.

Post by: MadMigMR2 on October 31, 2003, 11:19
sorry tem, but i didn't had the oprtunity to do that.

But all the kit even with the side steps is lighter than the stock parts.
There isn't a big diference, but i'm sure it's lighter.

the only thing i know is that the box where all parts came from japan wheights 28kg And this includes the card box and all the plastic that was protecting the parts.

I will put all the stock parts inside that box to store them away from the dust.

And then i will wheight the box.

This way whe will know the wheight diference between the gt300 and the stock parts   s:wink:  s:wink:

I will do that this weekend.

If nothing else, this photo: http://www.fullsix.pt/fotos/gt300_fase_01_67.jpg shows very clearly that the air-intake duct re-enters the engine bay rather than sucks from the side-intake.

It does, and it also shows the difference from the other side, where there's a panel covering the inlet to the engine bay from the air intake.

QuoteIf nothing else, this photo:  m http://www.fullsix.pt/fotos/gt300_fase_01_67.jpg (http://www.fullsix.pt/fotos/gt300_fase_01_67.jpg) m  shows very clearly that the air-intake duct re-enters the engine bay rather than sucks from the side-intake.

That is correct!!

The air-intake duct makes a 90º corner in that point and it begins on that place.

There is no more duct to inside the car, the duct makes that corner and finishes on the other side of the metal panel.

The opening is very close to the side intake has you can see on the picture.

And the reason it's not directly conected to the air-intake is because of water. The way it's made, the water doesn't enter in to the duct.

About the gap between the front side panel and the door...is there just a level surface in there..? Could you take a closeup pic of that?

And I think you should paint the headlight casings  s8) 8) s8)

Seems to be £2500 (in Japanparts)...no idea about shipping, taxes or painting. I'm sure you can fit it yourself though.

But don't forget you need new wheels for the kit as well...

just a little thing i have ntoiced is that bluephonix seams to be lower than madmigs!

Maybe a lowering kit maybe in order as it can go lower and would make it look that bit sexier   s:lol:  s:lol:
