Title: What's the remote key look like?
Post by: Team_Dandism on June 8, 2007, 14:56
Hi all,

My MR-S didn't come with a remote key but i believe i can add one.

There are several used toyota 2 or 3 button keys on ebay and i've found some new cases for them.

I just don't have a clue which one i need, 2 or 3 button etc. Patrick from Rogue gave me all the part numbers for new ones but I'll probs do the ebay route if its cheaper to get a used key and a fresh (blank) case for it.

could someone post or send me a pic of what i need to source.

Thanks

UK spec cars have 2 buttons on them but you need to get the TVSS system for that to work

MR-S has a single button on the side, thats it.

The only source I've found come from Japan and have to be matched up to your VINumber. And it isn't cheap  s:? :? s:?

We had this discussion a few months back - it was pretty much decided that a cheaper option would be to get alarmed up with a kit that has central locking on a key fob.

There you go. Upper button says unlock, lower says lock.

oh bugger, guess i'll have to get a new alarm then. I'd still appreciate it if someone could post a pic of one, I might chance my arm on one of the used ebay ones and see if it can be programed to work.

I have the programming guide, its really wether its the right frequency range etc.

Matt - took some shaky pics for you yesterday on my 'phone, but Activesync is playing up and I can't transfer them to the interweb  s:? :? s:?

If you're desperate, PM me your mobile number & I can try MMS'ing.
