Title: Stereo cutting out
Post by: Liz on July 11, 2007, 20:08
As is says in the title really....I have lost Grants mobile due to a technical (well operator) error when I tried to bluetooth phone numbers from my old phone to my new phone  s:oops:  s:oops:

I first noticed this happen when I selected reverse of all things, the sound cut out completely.  I have just tried a CD in the car after taking tunes from Itunes, playing normally then suddenly the sound just cuts off, when I go back a track it starts playing normally again.  Also the speakers on the left hand side get a weird noise through them every now and again, I think it sounds like a loose connection, but has anyone else any ideas?

I was playing it loud as well, but I checked the amp and it wasn't even warm.

Typical Essex girl  s;) ;) s;)  *ducks*

When the sound cuts out, does the track time (or time remaining, whichever is displayed) still count down?

Is your amp powering front speakers, or just a sub/rear fill?

Liz, do you have stuff stacked on top of the amp? The amplifier is aircooled, with a thermally controlled fan to increase the cooling when the amp is under load. If you leave stuff on stop of it, it can get to hot, and it protects itself by shutting down for a few seconds until the temperature is under control.

There you are Grant!!  s:D :D s:D    When I looked in the compartment to check the amp the torneau covers were sitting on top of it, would it get that hot after a minute or so...I have moved them - will let you know how it goes!

<<edit>>Aaron, there are so many wires I think that the amp powers everything...sounds like it.
