Title: Style bars
Post by: Anonymous on December 7, 2003, 11:55
I see from the forum that a group buy was recently carried out for style bars.  Where they genuine Toyota and, if so, are there any plans to do another?  What saving did it offer?  Ta.

They are not genuine Toyota parts. They were made by a guy called David in France.

As for another group buy.........try contacting the GB originator to see if he will run another one.     s:D :D s:D

There are other alternatives out there........try the thread on my signature for some info & site links.

Andy, the bars were indeed made in France by David0153, a quality piece of kit. We paid £250 at the GB price, I'm not sure how much he would charge for an individual order though   s:? :? s:?

Hi Andy

David0153 is member no 223. He has a web site etc.

As the GB organiser I would suggest, if you are interested, that you ask him if he would do them for the same price (a bit cheeky, I know), plus postage from France direct to you.
I am biased, but I think that they are 5 times better than the Toyota ones. Depending where you are you may be able to meet up with one of us 11 who had them, if you wanted to see the real thing first.

Regards

Andy

I have emailed David about another matter and have asked whether he will do some more at the GB price, but not a bulk buy. I'll post his answer.

Peter, thanks for the offer, thats very kind of you.  However, at the moment I'm going to concentrate on the hardtop.  However, I will keep an eye out.  Thanks.

Just out of interest David's price for a set of chrome bars will be 423 Euros including postage.

Roger, thank you.  I've been onto Davids website and e-mailed him.  Having seen them (or more importantly now that the wife has), we want a set sooner rather than later.  I'm also of the school of thought that unless we get the hardtop and style bars soon, we won't at all, as there will no doubt be other things we'll have to spend the money on! Also, as time goes by, the impetus is lost.

Peter, having seen the bars on the site we're sold on them.  Once again thanks for the offer of meeting up to see yours (fnar fnar).  However, you never know we may see you around Norwich or at an meet sometime.  Yes, 'at the end of the day' is definitely Trisha material, isn't it!  But you have to be wearing an oversize, vividly coloured shirt (not tucked in of course) when you say it.
