Title: Fisher price surround for stereo HELP Part NO
Post by: s a watt on August 27, 2007, 00:18
Hi

I have just purchased a Mrs which is a 54 plate with no stereo.

Reading from the threads i belive that i need to buy a surround from Matt first up so i can fit a decent stereo and then i need to get hold of a fisher price surround so that it all fits flush.

Do i need to fit any brackets for all this to sit into as being that no stereo before i might not have the brackets. Any Ideas

Anyone have one i could have if they have changed the head unit.

Or does anyone have the full Sony stereo that should have went in with facia that they want to sell .

Just bought the car so trying to keep cost to a min as you can imagine.

I now have the parts required from Matt

went to order the Sony Surround part

Toyota guy was pain in the A*se

Because my car is a 2005 and import he wanted a chassis no and vin no to do it.

I gave him part no 55423-17040 and he said nothing came up

i noticed on here someone said part no 55423-17040-CO which he said was a black part at 13.90 + Vat which sounds right to me.

Can anyone confirm the part no.

I said to the guy that the car did not come with a sereo and the vin number ect would not help.

Its the same as UK but you know how they are.

Can anyone confirm i am right with number.

My car is MRS 2005 model

Thanks

Shane

Yes you need the CO at the end.

I got the part at £13-£14

Dont be afraid to ask toyota for a discount cos you are in the club.

None of them have said no to me yet.

Is this to cover the gaps after fitting an aftermarket headunit?

The part number is for the trim ring (from the 2003+ standard stereo) which goes around the outside of the Autoleads fascia adapter - if thats the gap you're referring to then yes.
