Anyone know about the colour combinations for custom leather available from Mr T? I have seen the blue/yellow affair in the accessories brochure, and wondered if there was anything else slightly more subtle?
Nothing that I am aware of directly from Mr T, but I would suggest contacting A1 Auto Trimmers in Letchworth - they have retrimmed 2 cars for me, and both times have done an absolutely top-notch job.

I've ordered the car with red high lighted panels on the seats and door cards, get her at the end of the week so cant comment yet
Sorry, slightly off-topic, but any chance of a couple of pics of the new leather Steve?

They do custom leather seats and supply a number of importers of Proton, Hyundai, Kia and the like, where the leather seats do not come as standard, or particular customers want leather and the dealer hasn't got the spec. My brother-in-law bought a second hand Hyundai Lantra from the local official Hyundai dealer and preferred a white car in preference to another one which had leather - to sweeten the deal the dealer then offered to get leather interior for him at a bargain price and a week later when he took delivery, I couldn't believe it wasn't original. They also were the makers of some very good bucket seat covers we spotted when we were buying my wife a Saxo VTR, sold as an extra on new VTRs and VTSs by our local Citroen dealer. I went to AutoLeather to get them to take my smart in and cut up the seat covers to make patterns from them, at which point of course I got mine pretty cheap in return. Excellent job from which a number of leather after-market seats were then sold.
They can do any colour you like and two-tone, etc..

Smart BTW was able to do 114mph from 600cc, and nothing like standard so no noses up please.
When I bought my 2 in the summer, the dealer told me that the leather is fitted in the UK....... as is the A/C.
He offered to give me Toyota's upholsterers phone number if I didn't order the leather from new, but in the end I found the extra £500.

I'm afraid this may well be an urban legend.....
Firstly the A/C cannot be fitted at port of entry unless the vehicle is shipped without the dashboard fitted - you have to cut a section away between the hinge points for the glove box to fit the heat exchanger, and then fit a repair bar to strengthen the glove box mount.
Secondly the leather on '03 models and later is being fitted in Japan - the cars definately have it on them whilst being shipped across.
Most dealers do, however, have a local retrimmer who they refer business to - that is how I got in touch with A1 Auto Trimmers of Letchworth.
Just my 2c worth.
My custom leather pack is being fitted to my car in the dealers on Thursday, this is subcontracted out by Toyota UK using pre-cut leather packs supplied by Mr T
My mate just had silver centre trims put in it from MrT and also if you look at the Evo '2' they had yellow inserts.

Maybe things have changed.
Almost 3 years ago when I ordered mine, my dealer told me the AC was fitted by Toyota Germany after importing. Another dealer said he could fit an AC to a car he had that he wanted to sell me (which was way over priced to start with).
my dealer had a panic on because the leather guys have only just turned up! but they come with sorted new seats and door cards and just exchange them......easy :-) :-) :-)
For any of you considering it, heres a pic of the custom leather pack in red, but as you know you can also have various colours and design options available to you. Mines more the classic sports car style with MR2 Roadster embroidered at the top of the seat

The muchos pic doesnt do it justice as the quality of the leather is superb and in my opinion better than the standard Mr T leather option. :-) :-) :-)
looks superb mate... much better than the standard red leather. Good job!
So what did they charge you for it? (if you dont mind me asking?)
No probs :-) :-) :-)
£625 , as mine was brand new they turned up with two new seats already done, I did ask if that would be the case if fitted as an after market option and they didnt know. however they did say its always fitted in one day at your delaership, so no time without your mota
Cheers mate, might ask when i go in to have my rattles fixed about my local dealers price (probably about £26,672.87 + VAT for it knowing my local dealers hourly rate.... s:roll:  s:roll: )
Ha Ha Ha s:lol:  s:lol: s:lol:  s:lol: s:lol:  s:lol:
That price was 10% discounted but otherwise the price of £695 is a standard toyota accessory price. So shouldnt be any differnece?
Thankfully no Mr T labour charge to vary as its an all in price including the labour of the company thats contracted to Mr T to do these works.
I must say as a standard red leather owner, those are the puppies privates s8) 8) s8)
It does look nice doesn't it.
