Title: Correct parts list for single DIN head-unit replacement?
Post by: Anonymous on December 11, 2007, 15:36
Hi everyone,

I need to replace the Sony C570R standard-fit stereo on my 2001 MR2 as it's fallen victim to the dreaded broken volume knob. Luckily, I've only just bought it and so the dealer will cover £75 or so of the cost.

As I want an aux/usb input I'm looking for a new, cheap single DIN unit.

I want to be clear about what is required; I think I need:

1. Single DIN head unit
2. ISO adaptor leads for the new head unit if it isn't Sony.
3. Surround ring for a 2003+ stereo. (Toyota have quoted £17.95)
4. Matty's facia surround (£19, info:  m http://www.mr2roc.org/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... a+surround (http://www.mr2roc.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=14576&highlight=facia+surround) m )

And a couple of hours to fit it  s;-) ;-) s;-)

Is this all correct?

On more thing: on the photos I've seen, the new stereo always seems to be stuck out the front of the surround. Is it meant to look like that?

Thanks,

James

Item 2 can be bought from my lovely website as well for £5   s:wink:  s:wink:

You are correct. That's all you need.

There is a picture on  w www.autoaudioaccessories.co.uk (http://www.autoaudioaccessories.co.uk) w  (right side of front page, in the middle) showing how the stereo will look. The detachable front panel is the bit that sticks out a bit. Once the front panel is off it's a flush fit.
