Title: Weekend Job
Post by: Anonymous on August 5, 2008, 12:12
This weekend I want to fit some speakers into the storage bin doors.

The only query that I have is what is the best way to get the carpet up in order to feed the speaker wire from the HU to the speakers?

Cheers.

Never done that, but guess it would be to pull the sill plastics off and stick it under there along with lots of other wires etc.

or take the seats out, it's only 4 bolts each seat from memory and it will give you a lot more room to maneuver around.

If you take the seats out do it carefully as the connectors for the seats are underneath which need to be unplugged!

Hi,

Why not just run the speaker wires in the door cills, you only have to pull up the front of the carpet, push the seats forward and bring the backs down, surely they'll be enough room to  get at the bins, always assuming you've taken the bin doors out previously to cut the holes for the speakers...

I would just run them under the plastics too, I have a sub in the bins and no carpet was ever removed

My plastics are too full of wires, i actualy need to relocate some of them now as no room left even to pop it down properly.
