Title: Trial kit pics
Post by: Anonymous on January 21, 2004, 15:14
some one asked me a while back for some pics, so here ya go.

I was also asked for pics of how high the screen comes up when set in the bottom hole of the adaptor, so have put a pic of the interior as well.

theres also a pic of the petrol flap trim

havnt put the pics on before this as I know generally people on here are pretty purist in regards to mods and I have no wish to be flamed, but purely because I was asked to.

dont really do her justice as the weathers dark and dismal

but here ya go (remembering I've only had her a month yesterday)

need to make some fillers for the top of the arches as theres still a big gap but the front is only 4.75" of the ground so defo cant go any lower with the springs around my estate  s:-( :-( s:-(

1) Peoples opinions are just that, opinions. Doesn't mean they're right...
2) Flames are part of the fun.
3) People here tend to stick to mods that enhance the key aspects of the car, mainly handling, wieght loss, performance enhancement and anything that isnt fashionable among Max Power reading Corsa owners. Thats really not such a bad thing, even if it is a little unadventurous!

Nice car, the kit seems to suit it apart from the rear bumper, but then I imagine all that extra ventilation will come in very useful for a turbo install...  s:wink:  s:wink:

very nice indeedy

love that kit from the front, shame the spots aren't more integrated though.

I also like that venturi type look from the rear - kinda frames the pipes, like the msd kit i also like.  not sure on the middle venting though - makes it a little busy for my liking, but hey that's just me!

does the kit extend the side vents in anyway - they still look stock to me...

nice job perry altho it  maybe the angle of the pic but is the screen faceing sligthly downwards ??

but love the wheels   s:P :P s:P

Chris...no matye the side vents arnt touched by the kit, its only front/rear bumpers and skirts

Buster...the screen is perfectly vertical so it must be the angle of the pic, would prefer it to be leaning slightly backwards, but I'm waiting for the sunny weather before I change it in case I get to much sun on it with the top down.

GSB.... yeah realise that matey,  just didnt want it to appear like I had posted the pics for a 'pat on the back' I was only doing so because people had asked to see various bits i had done.  Obviously I like my mods and that what matters  :-) :-) :-)

cheers for the compliments guys, as for the comments regarding the back bumper?  I must admit it is a bit fussy at the back, I'm hoping when I pick my bonnet up on Friday it will balance things out a bit with the louvres I've put in it.  But we'll have to see????

Great Job Perry, the red somehow seems really lush as well.  Which CF bonnet are you going for? C-one, Varis? And are you painting it? I was tempted to get one and paint it apart form the indented middle, making a carbon fibre V. And finally! what is the weight saving of the bonnet?

Cheers,

Mike

Gets my vote, looks good, how much was the kit?
Fuel cap is neat.

Post by: Anonymous on January 21, 2004, 23:54
The CF bonnet is OEM style but I really liked the C-One vented style (too expensive with freight/import duties etc) so I've vented mine with Fiesta turbo vents cut into the CF and applied from the underside so less profound. Also i've reversed them so they draw air out rather than in.

Havnte seen it since I handed it over to be sprayed red, so I have no idea how good a job I made of it or what it will look like on the car?

The kit is available in various places and works out at about 1.5k once you've imported it etc (freight from japan, import duties etc etc)

Not really my thing at all, but Ihave to say a pretty damn professional job, even in the short time. And I kinda do like the wheels, in a "Fast the the Furious" kinda way........

Nice one!  s:D :D s:D
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on January 22, 2004, 08:48
Fair do's John, everyone to their own, thats what its all about  s;-) ;-) s;-)

On the bonnet and weight saving, it works out at just under half the weight of the OEM.  Steering wheel is about a third, exhaust I would assume is heavier tho due to the extra tail
Title:
Post by: markiii on January 22, 2004, 09:40
good call the exhaust is 2lbs heavier

I know most people aren't really fans of wings, but the trial kit doesn't really look 'complete' without it.

that being said, I think your spyder is one of the nicest I've seen. I am a fan of the trial kit.. hope to own one myself one day in the not to distant future   s:) :) s:)   and thanks for showing me how it'd look in red as I've only seen it in black..

BTW, Do you have a picture from the side of your spyder??
