Title: Fusion CA-IP500
Post by: Graham on October 27, 2008, 10:09
Anyone come across the Fusion CA-IP500 yet? I like the idea of the internal dock for my iPod to keep it out of site whilst the car is parked...

Not seen the Fusion unit.  There's a review on Amazon:

I was quite interested in this from Parrot:

That would work for most of my incar needs I think.

The reviews for the Parrot aren't good, though...

Shame, as in theory it looks like a nice bit of kit... still just 1 review is not a great sample size so maybe there is hope yet...

Dont forget, the Parrot is also a rather capable blue-tooth hands-free kit. I suspect the reviewer had more of a problem with a noisy power supply rather than the unit being faulty.

One thing to note though - the Parrot head unit is as rare as hens-teeth at the moment. Parrot are typically quoting delivery dates well into next year at the moment, which I suspect is what prompted Halfords to remove it from their stock list.

There is a video review of this Here (http://cnettv.cnet.com/2001-1_53-31320.html)

Of course, this is just pre-launch theory rather than a user review, but shows the product and its features.
