Hi all, im about to upgrade my CD player and speakers but i have a few questions if i may.
-Do i need 6.5" speakers and a set of tweeters ?
-Do i have to make the MDF surround so the speakers can be fitted?
-Do i need shallow speakers or will i be fine with the normal deep ones?
-Where can i install the crossover ? How is this wired up?
Sorry for all the questions, i just dont want to mess it up.
Heres the items im thinking of getting.

-Do i need 6.5" speakers and a set of tweeters ? They will fit, but you can use coaxials if you wanted and leave the tweeters, but most go for components
-Do i have to make the MDF surround so the speakers can be fitted? MDF spacers give the best job
-Do i need shallow speakers or will i be fine with the normal deep ones? normal should be okay with the spacers . have a look at the stickies at the beginning of this section
-Where can i install the crossover ? How is this wired up? crossover location will depend on their size, in door if small and somewhere else if large, like the Alpine X series. Wiring to manufacturers specs, see their instructions.

Items look okay and should fit, or you can shop around if you have fave suppliers on ebay for example.
Also don't forget to read up on sound deadening inside the doors, makes a noticeable difference.
Have a good read on this section of thread and it should all come into focus before you start your install

By making the MDF spacers you can allow for different size speakers. If you butcher the OEM (the other option) then I reckon you can't.
I've got Infinity Kappy 65.7 which are 17cms and they fit perfectly OK.
