OK Finally got around to trying to fit the Kenwood DVD unit I bought last year (Yeah...I know shudda fitted it when I first got it but never seemed to have the time).
Question is I seem to need a conversion lead to fit from the standard Toyota plug that goes into the back of the OEM stereo, to the Kenwood wiring loom.
Anybody know exactly what sort of lead I need to get without having to splice any cables??
Thanks,
Mel
Hi Mel,
I think what you're after is a car to ISO adaptor - like this:

Assuming that your Kenwood unit has an ISO input.

Thats what I originally thought, but the 2 white plugs dont look right for attaching to the black Toyota one.....Or am I just missing something... s:oops:  s:oops:
When I installed a Sony with one of these leads, it was only the large white plug that was required from memory and even then I had to doctor one of the plugs cos there was a cut out in the wrong place that stopped the plugs connecting.
If the Kenwood has an ISO lead you will only need the ISO that will connect to the Toyota loom.
If your Kenwood does not have an ISO lead, you have to buy one for the rear of your Kenwood (following this) plus buy another ISO that will connect to Toyota loom.
2 Options:
Kenwood that has ISO.
Therefore: Kenwood Unit/ISO you will have to buy ISO to Toyota Loom about £10 +p&P
Kenwood with No ISO.
Therefore: Kenwood Unit you will have to buy Kenwood ISO + have to buy ISO to Toyota loom. The Kenwood ISO is .99p +p&P in Ebay the Toyota ISO is about £10 +P&P.
Hope this makes sense!
Any probs, just shout.
Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Ordered a Toyota ISO lead from fleabay 2day for £3.90 inc. of P&P.
Hopefully that should be the one I need.
If not I'll shout out again.... s:D :D s:D
Thanks for the help.
Mel.
look up item 370176356922 if not.
If you have a Toyota->ISO lead that won't fit the writing you have in the footwell, pull on the wiring...
There loom that went into the back of the stock stereo is a sub-loom that goes from 'Toyota->Sony' (or fisher price, depending on the age of the car) which actually needs replacing with the ISO adapter, not augmenting.
I missed it first time round, too, because the 'Toyota' connector was hiding under the carpet..
