Title: Stock alarm help
Post by: Reecemac on April 6, 2009, 13:12
Only got my car a few weeks ago and have realised that the alarm does not work, I know its got ones as I saw the bit under the spare, also iv noticed when I lock the doors (and alarm it) the little light under the mirror switch turns on but never flashes ( I assume its supposed to flash) I can then rock the car and nothing happens. Any ideas what to do? Maybe somehow reset thr alarm?

One thing you can try to see if it works is lock the car with the roof and windows down and then either drop something on the passenger seat or climb on in!

See if the alarm goes off then. I don't think I've ever managed to set the alarm off by rocking the car, although if I lock it and then close the garage door it tends to go off!

Yep, proximity sensor which I think is microwaves. Mine goes off if you touch the roof when set.  Red LED should flash.

Yeah iv done the roof down jump in thing, the fact the light doesn't flash suggests it not turning on anyway. Cheers all

Suggest you do a search as I'm sure there is some previous info on this.

I understand the Alarm "box" in under the carpet behind the driver's seat and there maybe a sensortivity swtch in there.

Sorry, I can't be more help, it ended up my 2 didn't have alarm.........£250 later it does!!  Such is life!!

Still havent sorted this yet, is there anyway reset switch on the alarm anywhere? the light still does not flash, however the other day I popped in the shop quickly only to come out and find my alarm going off even though I cannot set it off no matter what I try? go figure. Iv searched on here and google and cant find anyone with the same problem (i.e. the alarm light not flashing or working for that matter), Iv dont have the manual and every link to one seems to be dead now too so anyone with the alarm manual in a pdf could they please send it this way and hopefully its got some answers or anyone else input will help, thanks everyone.

Check "How to" key programming, maybe of some assistance as a backdoor method of establishing situation with alarm, worth a try!!
