Title: Clicking Steering
Post by: wbarrwebster on April 21, 2009, 12:10
Hi,

I noticed that I had a clicking sound from the steering on full lock at very low speed sometime ago,  I just thought it must be something to do with pulling round 17in Wheels and ignored it. ..It now seems to be happening on 3/4 lock, Having done  a Search, can anyone confirm procedure as below:

1: Car on stands front wheels off, take top covers off the (suspention?) stuts, clean out existing grease, repack with heavy general purpose grease.

Can anyone confirm the cause purely for my curiosity?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

As you've probably read that cures it for some.
Some it takes alignment and for some a change of tires.

Mine comes and goes with each new set of tyres so I ignore it for the first 1000 or so miles and it doesn't happen any more.
