I tried the SEARCH button and tried for half an hour but couldn't get to the bottom of it.
So I'd like to remove the alarm completely. Is it enough if I remove the siren from the frunk ? (Just disconnect and leave the connector) or do I need to remove the whole wiring or is it even more complicated?
This is a UK 2000 Roadster with original factory Toyota alarm I'm talking about. I just don't need it and would appreciate the space instead. It's just dead weight for me as I barely use the car and it's sitting in a secured garage.
Technically speaking I'm also thinking about moving the Odyssey battery to the frunk anyway. s:) :) s:)
well it will mess with your insuranxce cover so I'd leave it alon
relocaring the siren so it is outside the bin but still in teh frunk would be your best bet

And have the added bonus of a siren that is louder than a trapped sparrow..
Thanks for the replies.
It's not an issue here in Hungary as insurance system works quite differently. For example modding doesn't count in so you can do whatever you want unless it passes the MOT which is more strict s:( :( s:( Although you can remove the alarm if you want to it won't void your insurance. Unless you have one which states that you have an alarm fitted. s:) :) s:) It's politics and obviously if they don't want to they won't pay anyway.
I might put it somewhere else then... anyway do you reckon removing the siren (unplug, remove, leave the female plug in the frunk clamped down) would work ? Or does it set off the alarm or immo ?
I think it's linked in to the immobilizer. Car might not start with it unplugged. Only one way to find out! s:) :) s:)

Ooops.. need to change that now s:) :) s:) I think it's confusing.
Yes I guess I'll try and see if it works that's the easiest way to find out! Just need to refit the battery now s:) :) s:)
Okay, fired up the car without the alarm/speaker/siren (unplugged the whole thingy) and it works fine! Just wanted to confirm in case anyone wonders s:) :) s:)
