Title: Part number for aerial centre
Post by: pada1462 on July 2, 2009, 20:34
does anyone know the part number for the centre of the aerial (on post 03 if its different)? And how much?

I had a slight coming together with a pigeon at 60mph today, just missed my head but did this to the aerial....

Who won, I guess neither of us.

I believe that's 86337-17080 - 'ROD & PIPE, SEALED W/CABLE' (Yeah, strange description, I know!)

Thanks Aaron, Mr T was telling me its a sealed unit, but with this it comes out at £47 for the centre.

Might be an idea to get a stubby aerial so it won't happen again  s:) :) s:)  Think it's most probably a lot cheaper too.

Sorry to hijack, but what stubby aerial would you suggest?

None if you still want to listen to the radio, look good - but reception is kack.

I replaced mine recently when the vinyl snapped inside. It takes around 1.5 hours to complete, but worth it. Let me know if you need any pointers on how to do it.

I'm confused ( not for the first time!!)

Ok, go for a stubby but as Liz says reception is crap!!

Or, buy a mast at Mr T as referenced in previous threads.cost about £40, search though previous posts, the replacement job will take, say 12 mins.........IMHO no contest!

OK, if you get really organised..(spanner for the chrome nut in hand ) say 10 minutes!!
The 10 Minutes assumes that its just the mast that's buggered which is usually the case.

No joke, no exaggeration.

Hi,

Don't know about Autoleads but you can buy a new mast from Mr T for £40....unscrew the chrome top nut...let the aerial come up with the radio on....pull it out at the top of it's length.
feed the white "snake" end of the new mast into the aerlal mount. Turn the radio off...mast should be pulled down...chrome nut back on.job done.he says!!

New mast in from Mr T and yes its about a 5 minute job, unscrew chrome nut - turn on - feed new plastic  -turn off - refit nut - job done.

Thanks all
