Title: Carbon GT Wing
Post by: Jap GT300 on February 12, 2004, 21:48
Please don't flame me.  Sean insisted I got one   s:wink:  s:wink:  .  I think it looks really good.

Mark, do you think we will have enough time to fix it on at the weekend?

does it need any more downforce? it won't be going anywhere til the engine is in?

 :-) :-) :-)

Seriosuly it won't be hard to fit, but you don't want it bending the engine lid like Jonboys did.

How far apart are the legs? will it attch to the wings rather than the lid?

Please dont take this as an insult

It looks like the one that Halfords are knocking out. I thought about getting one from there, only cos of the price.(Halfords price)

Really looks cool and cant wait to see pics.

the legs are further apart than the one i had so it shouldnt do any damage but i would try and strengh the boot lid before attaching.
saw a red one in bridgnorth and it look good but it needs a bodykit on the car otherwise it looks out of place.
i like wings.  s:lol:  s:lol:  but i am going for something a bit more subtle and that has stronger mounting points.
please but pics on when installed.

I'm afraid to say I don't like it

It's the right shape and everything but just that bit too high for me sorry

But hey every one has their own opinion right?

Well it cost slightly more than a halfords one and is real carbon fibre.  It doesn't weigh much at all.

The legs are fully adjustable and they can be moved further out by another foot or so.

It is the same wing that should be used on a real GT300 and monocraft kits except I opted for te shorter legs   s:shock:  s:shock:

You might want to look up sunbeam who is on the memberlist. She has fitted a carbon wing to her yellow 2.

*ding*

OOTC: a wing would have been useful for Magny Cours, but i can't exactly see it being too helpful at Anglesey. Still would be interesting to find out...

It's not on the car yet as I don't have much of a car to put it on and I snapped two of the srews, but here is it attached to the bootlid.

No - that would be Adam pointing at my car saying 'Look at it - it's only 2 days old, and it's allready got 350 miles on the clock and it's filthy
