Title: rear bumper inserts, replacing pre03 with 03 inserts
Post by: markiii on March 5, 2004, 17:40
Well I can confirm that they will fit.

in fact the way they go in you only need 4 pieces as the centre section, license plate holder is the same on both revisions.

you could even continue to use the reflectors if you want.

What did I say when someone was asking before?  s:wink:  s:wink:

Coley has ordered the bits to do this today, and I keep thinking about it.

The TTE are cheaper and too my mind better looking. Hence I've sold to Adam and will buy teh TTE. The parst shown alome are £60 plus vat

I reckon teh TTE would look stonking on yours in black.

shall I add another set to teh price request?

Is it me or do they look a bit "frankenstein" bolt on?  Or is this pre-final-installation?

markiii, the grille above the MR2 sign looks like the Chromdesign piece, do you know whether they make, or are going to make, the grille to fit the 03 rear?

I can vouch for the fact that they fit - I got mine from Diamond (130 euros):

It was a real pain removing the bumper, took some photo's too but can't get onto my site to host them - I will try again later.

OK I promised some photo's, so here they are:

They are really easy to fit (Once the Bumper is Off  s:? :? s:?  )

Something just doesn't look right here  s:!: :!: s:!:   The thing was naked  s:shock:  s:shock:

It was worth it in the end - the inserts look really good (the Style Bars are new this weekend too!)

I had my 03 intakes resprayed so that they are the same colour as my car sad but true.  s:oops:  s:oops:

Personally I though that they looked like they stood out a mile being so bright against the 01 silver, but I know that some people say that they are a good match. Personal preference I suppose.  I have a good spray shop near me so I would just run the TTE ones down there to get done, if I get them of course...  s:) :) s:)

I ordered the '03 inserts, style bars & a couple of chrome bits so he shipped them in one box & didn't charge the full shipping costs.
