Hi,
I have just removed my sony stock stereo from my mr2 to look at how its fitted to the double din holder and then reconnected it exactly as it was before but now the stereo will not work ???
It just displays the time and thats it!

There is a tiny reset button (from memory) just above the volume dial - need a paperclip end or something to push it.  Might be worth a go..

Is there a fuse on the back of the unit - might be worth checking that it you've not already done so.

Aye, check the fuse on the back... otherwise try disconnecting it completely again and leave it to one side for 10 mins. Hooke it back up and fingers crossed it'll fire back up. Id unplug and check all the pins are clear from any debris also... you never know...   s:roll:  s:roll:

If it was the fuse I very much doubt that it would display the time, I would recheck all the wiring and make sure none of the pins have bent in the connectors.

The clock might take a different power feed I guess.

Car stereos usually have a constant power and a main ignition power supply. The clock possibly runs off of the former.

Hi,

The Clock will be on the constant wire.
Suggest you pull the plugs out of the back, put a tester on to establish constant live and switched live... (probably red and yellow)

Also, check out your earth is ok (probably black).

If all  is ok on the incoming loom..something's a miss with the HU!

IMO, you've screwed up the wiring/fuse somewhere.

On the standard loom

Blue/Yellow is power all the time from the RADIO 1 fuse
Grey is power when ignition is on, from the RADIO 2 fuse
Ground is Brown

Fuses are in the fusebox behind the dash
