Title: Hitting a brick wall
Post by: Anonymous on July 19, 2010, 15:28
Now that I've been here a while and become familiar with the potential disaster waiting to happen under my bonnet, my quest has begun to find a garage who will remove the pre cats in my 2000 model.

The thing is, I'm finding it hard.

One of the garages I spoke to refused to undertake the work, because they said that there could be knock on implications that they did not want to be held responsible for.

Another two gave me the impression that I was off my rocker for asking about something they've never heard of.

Anyway, I finally found an understanding voice at the end of the phone, by the name of Alan Jeffery - Local high performance car tuning specialist.

He hadn't ever heard of this problem in a Toyota before, but aknowledged the implications a pre cat break down could have in this engine, and has agreed to do the work.

Hopefully I'll be able to recommend him.

I'm sure I will - Apparently he's the local guru when it comes to performance motors around here.
