Title: Alarm goes off randomly
Post by: vatovey on July 21, 2010, 11:26
Morning all,

Was hoping someone could help, my alarm keeps going off randomly, I've tried dead locking with microwave sensors, and i've tried reducing the sensitivity by adjusting the control unit behind the drivers seat, but it still keeps doing it.

Is there any other diagnostic checks I can perform to get to the bottom of the problem ?

Thanks, Vaughn.

Try three button presses to lock the car. The last one disables the sensor.

If it still goes off it may well be the boot (engine lid) switch. There used to be a thread about adjusting it on here somewhere.

I fixed mine by bending the switch up 5 degrees, the heat of the sun expands the metal on the boot/bonnet and the switch is armed. easy fix and free
