Title: Speed and G's MR2v350ZvWRXv911turbo
Post by: MRMike on March 15, 2004, 21:44
Not sure if anyone else is interested..but I find these things really interesting..It's a graphical representation from the software you get on a GTECH PRO Comp. These are G's and speed graphs.  I was amazed at how well the MR2 launches, light weight, mid engined etc it's 0-60 foot time is quicker than a 350Z, and not far behind a 911 turbo which has monster power and 4wd. It pulls quite a bit more G from the start than the 350Z.

Also speed wise this graph is pretty interesting, notice how the MR2 is pretty much with the others in first, but then falls away at the end of second.  What is remarkable though is the 911's pace, which seems to increase at a linear rate in the first three gears!  I Thought it was incredible to see the difference between a quick, fast, and bloody fast car!

Anyways thought I'd share!

looking at the second graph, im assuming where the graph straightens out is when their is a gear change, and it looks like 2's 2nd gear takes to 65mph. Mine only takes it ti 59mph, though it is a j-spec   s:? :? s:?

Yeah that's right it is second! Though the ratios between 5 and 6 speed I believe are the same so I would assume it would do the same speeds? Not sure if the ratios are any different between UK and imports though?? Maybe the GTECH is off or a speedo is out? I know mine will go beyond 60 in second if it really has to...  s:? :? s:?

mine definately hits the limiter at 59mph, which means i have to change up to third to get my 0-60 time   s:x :x s:x   j-spec 2's must have shorter ratios. why would they change this for the UK?

Thats interesting about the US ratios, is this presumably because of their lower avg speeds ?? and the need to have more torque in 3rd??
