Title: Black Interior on a Silver Car
Post by: Bongo on March 18, 2004, 19:41
I've seen a 2 I fancy that is silver with black interior. I'm unsure if this is leather or not yet (the advert doesn't mention it).

Now in the brochure i have (2004 one) it lists that silver cars can only have a leather black interior and not a cloth one, was this true for the earlier cars?

I'd just like to know so if it turns out to be cloth I can ask them why it's a non standard colour.

Thanks in advance  s:) :) s:)

the earlier ones did have either leather or cloth interior.
personally silver goes best with red interior leather or cloth, though some think that the red cloth is to bright.(i am of course biased)

Hi,

Late in the thread, mine a 2000 with black cloth interior (works well actually) this is becaouse the car was from Belgium originally.

Early cars in silver in the UK only came with Red interior or a choice of leather, therefore I would presume the car in a european car (I don't like the word import, as we are ALL in the EU now!)

hope this helps.

I have silver with black leather and I thinks it looks fine. When buying it new nine months ago I was told that I could order it with either black or red leather or cloth. Red leather would look better with a matching hood me thinks:wink:

No not at all.

Toyota salesmen where a little pissed when I showed them the invoice back in november 2000 when I bought the car, some £3.5k less than they could supply.

But the service people where great, registered the car and everything and had loads of stuff done, plus now have a two year extended warranty.

Toyota uk make a point of saying the vin isn't on the computer so it must be an import, I quickly pointed out that anything from the EU is NOT an imort and they should get with the plot (didn't like it much, but it's true)

The only thing you have to make sure is that it has a thatcham 1 alarm on for insurance purposes (most would have been fitted at import, mine was from motorpoint, so I had it done before delivery)

Insurance isn't effected as I bought it in the UK   s:D :D s:D   of course from motorpoint, just becaouse they bought it from Belgium   s:D :D s:D

anyway never had any issues with insurance or dealer... but had the benefit of £3.5k saving and blakc interior as standard.....

can't say fairer than that  :-) :-) :-)

Cheers
