Nice s;) ;) s;)
Had mine fitted last Sunday..just in time for the frosty early mornings s:D :D s:D
Am very happy with mine ...another job well done s:bounce: :bounce: s:bounce:
Glad to have helped!
These kits are a bit of a swine to fit, but once on, they do work very well. Even if I say so myself!!
Regards
David
Whoppingly chuffed with mine. They work so much better on the car than they did in a jiffy bag in the garage. s:D :D s:D
Where do these kits come from?
I probably missed it and it will be obvious. s:lol:  s:lol:
David Howson put them together some time ago. If you want to run with it I'm sure he'll point you towards a supplier for the heated pads.
RS Components can supply the pads. Just do a search in Google. They're not cheap mind you.
I have asked my supplier of these parts if he can supply again this year; I will let you know if it's possible.
The cost of a pair of heated pads was £12 last time round.
Regards
David
how hard are these to fit and do you still sell them
I feel the need for a group buy coming up as I would'nt mind getting these fitted to mine if someone can post the instructions up as well.

That was quick thanks Peter,
Now who's going to do the group buy(David or Russ) s:D :D s:D
+1 please if we can get hold of some.

Somehow managed to post twice on my phone DOH s:oops:  s:oops:
any news on this
Have I missed the boat on this? I'd love heated mirrors..... out of all the extra toys I have had on other cars, it's the only thing I really miss!
Shall I get another GB organised??????
We could do a group fit at this year's Ding Day! I have a set of heated pads to fit.
As long as you dont want to do anything else in the day, it is quite a task fitting these but well worth it.
Quote from: "uktotty"Shall I get another GB organised??????
If you starting a list Russ please add me s:bowdown:  s:bowdown:
Also I haven't heard anything about the ding day this year, I hope it happens as I have a small but perfectly formed ding in my new wing that needs sorting.

+1 I'm pretty sure someone was nice enough to use my wing as a door rest! Bless 'em!!

I'd definately be interested.

Rest asured Ian, we're looking at a date mid May but nothing has been decided yet as we need our ding man and Demon Tweeks to both be available.
Nice s:D :D s:D
Edit: the ding day not your wing.
Must fit mine sometime soon.....

I'd be up for a set of these s:D :D s:D
Cheers,

Hi Guys!
I have been trying to contact the company I used for the original parts but without success, I'm sure there must be another supplier around Europe without having to order like a million of them from China! IRRC the pads are 12volt 8watt and measure 5.46" X 3.10" (or what ever the mm equiv is!)
I'm not sure if the instructions on how to fit these are still live, I will have to check my web site to see if the page is still there too.
As for fitting them, well it's not an easy job as Russ says. I have done three sets of these and it still takes me best part of a day to do, but if you take your time it's fine and the results are really good on a frosty day.
If I come across the parts, I would be happy to offer them out to members at what ever they cost me again.
Regards
David
Sorry to drag up and old thread...
Would these work?
Clicky please (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-Heated-Grip-Pads-Handlebars-Red-12V-/110766738840?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item19ca364d98#ht_3110wt_1163)
I am struggling to find something like the originals in this thread.
It looks like it will work?! Why not give it a try, worth a risk at that price.
I have never managed to find another supplier of the original parts
But these look as though they could do the job.
Good find!
David

I ordered them... but they are apparently still on the slow boat from china!!!!
I'll update when I have sorted it!
Ok thanks, let us know if they turn up s:D :D s:D .
Hi Guys!
Here's an old thread from about a generation ago....
Just wanted to say that I have been approached by the original component supplier to see if I would like to buy any of the parts for the heated mirror kits I put together many years ago.
If anyone is interested in having a go at these then please let me know and depending on numbers, I can put a price together for the kit of parts. The instructions are still available on line for those wanting to know how it all goes together.
Best wishes to all
-David-
Russ was the last person to do a group buy. There is often the odd request come through.
What quantity are you thinking of getting?
Hi
I can probably get a minimum of 6 pads (which would make three sets) at a reasonable cost. It just depends if there is still a demand / will to do this!!
-David-
Would be interested price depending
+1
Just saw on ebay you can buy heated wing mirror glass, can you simply wire these via a switch and mebies a timer?
can you please post a link to the heated mirror glass suppliers? or send in a pm if you prefer. Thanks JEZ

how i wish i had these on my '2 6 months ago!
In fairness you have to own them for it least a year before fitting them! s:lol:  s:lol: s:lol:  s:lol:
I'd definitely be interested if there are some clear instructions around! s:) :) s:)
Cheers
Geoff
There is a good link to instructions on here.
and one day I'll read them and fit my kit s:D :D s:D
I'd like to offer to fit them for you at Ding Day matey, but you haven' made it there yet! s:lol:  s:lol:
I'll get round to it soon, it's on the list, Ding Day keeps eluding me, I'm always either working or, well, working!
We'll get you over for a BBQ in the summer and sort it! s;-) ;-) s;-)
Sausage on a stick AND heated mirrors. Sounds like a win to me.
I could warm my sausage on my heated mirrors!....No, that doesn't sound quite right. s:? :? s:?
Hi Guys,
Are these kits still available, i maybe interested.
Russ who created the kit isn't on here anymore. Funnily enough though. I was thinking about trying to see if I could put a kit together. s:lol:  s:lol:
Did you read my mind? s:?: :?: s:?:
looks like there are lots of heated mirror options on ebay, so do we just swap them out and work out the wiring?

Those look like the ones I fitted on mine. Quite a goof fit, and having the foam on the back was quite handy as well. They could do with being 1mm or 2mm bigger all round, but they went in quite easily.

What wiring do u need to fit them?
From memory I used 2mm female shrouded spade connectors and 5 amp cable from Halfrauds. Then just chopped it into the heated rear screen circuit.

Next time I have to change one I will see if they will mod to fit, But the fezza mirror is only held on with one bolt and had 2 locating lugs. Peugeot ones might do as well or some Citroen ones
Heated glass would be nice but if anyone does know of a folding mirror that fits that would be even better. Parking on narrow streets makes me nervous.

Nice one Dave, i am really keen on those fiesta ones, they look like the same shape for mounting. Not sure about holes and studs. Would be nice to have power mirrors, heated and indicator. These have puddle lights too which i thought was quite nifty s;) ;) s;)
I think some of the 206's have power mirrors too, going to start looking at them too.
I wondered about the Corsa vxr mirrors would fit. They look cool for an oem mirror. Not sure what function they have in them.
Also, very expensive 2nd hand mirror.
Stock mirrors fold, it's just you have to get out of the car.
Think of the weight saving.

Hahaha! I am just bored at the moment and the idea excites me. I am tempted to do a weight comparison. Get someone to send me a scrap mirror. I will prob buy some mirrors and then they will sit idle for a year, while i do more important stuff like add a turbo lol!
In terms of weight, i am sure the weight difference will be minuscule, like a few grams.
