not essential at all. It's 99% cosmetic. MPH has had his removed for over 12 months with nobad effects.

I like the look of the nappie too, mine is j-spec, so it doesnt have one either... will it still fit if I have a twin exhaust there?

You have to cut a section out from the right hand side to fit a twin exhasut in, but its pretty easy...

Exceedingly easy.. Coley cut his a week or two back after putting on his new exhaust, it took literally seconds.

Note that there's two that cover the engine bay. I've only removed the rear-ward one as it conflicts with my exhaust.

I must say I was waiting for something like that thanks DP  s:) :) s:)

Thanks Sean, now MPH has said their are 2, wonder which one I need.

I think it came loose after my service, however, they suggested that I had hit somthing and torn it off. Now call me picky but I think I might remember hitting something big enought to rip it off since I only picked the car back up on Wednesday.    s:roll:  s:roll:

There's one towards the front of the car... it's pretty much flat.  And there's the one towards the rear of the car, which is what everyone sees, and is pretty much curved.

I'm guessing you lost the rear one (you'd notice it missing if you looked.

I'm with you on the doubt side of things... would probably have damaged the mounting points (including the bumper) as you did it too if that had been the case.

plus if ripped off the scres would still be there.

Think I will have a good look tonight and take a couple of photos.

I think it might be the front one. It didn't rip it off completely, and it was scraping on the road as I reached motorway speeds, only noticed yesterday as I had the top down on the way home.

They said the middle bolt (thought it was plastic?) was still attached and the nappie had come away from it. I forgot to ask if the side ones were still there.
