will let you know the cost if any one interested
If nothing else, while it's in ASK THEM TO CHECK THE PRE-CATS!
let me re-phrase that.
INSIST they check them.
i insisted they did
cost £157.70
And after you insisted, the cats were.....?
well they said they did and they said they was ok
Did they write that down on the service check list - or anywhere else on any paper work you have? s;-) ;-) s;-)
I saw N's car at the pre Treasure Hunt gathering and it was immaculate for the age. It had done a very low mileage (I think less than 10k) so I reckon his pre cats are pretty safe.
i suppose i have been naughty in not asking for the proof of checking the pre cats. but i will do next service. i can only say in my defence i have not have much dealings with Mr t before and i do have a trusting nature
many thanks for the advice though and it will be done next service.
ps
just finished caliper painting got lovely red ones now.

low mileage can be teh result of lots of short journeys.
which can be just as damaging to teh pre-cats as lots of long ones.
