Title: Top Dealer
Post by: Anonymous on April 7, 2004, 17:47
In third year of warranty and for the second time required new wheels due to blistering.

Popped down to Gordon Lamb Toyota Chesterfield - wheels no problem will replace all 4.  Spotted that the brake discs are rusted on the vented section - no problem will replace all 4 discs.  also spotted condensation in centre break light - no problem will replace!

Popped in 2 weeks later had all the work done within the day.  Spot on.

Thats what warranty is for i know, but to have a dealer fully agree with you can be quite rare!  Full respect and thanks to them i say.    s:D :D s:D    s:D :D s:D

you lucky bugger! My lot have replaced the wheels and discs no problem but are refusing to touch the lights (have condensation front & back) - they're trying to tell me that it's because the lights breath!! Haven't given up yet so any tales of successful replacement likes this are encouraging (and ammunition) (and no, I shan't mention the club)

How bad is the condensation? My corolla got condensation in the headlight and failed an MOT because the beam pattern was diffracted. If it's this bad then surely they have to replace it.

My headlight had condensation in it and the dealer in Romford changed it no problem.

My dealer have just replaced our wheels for the second time, but:

1 They've managed to scratch one wheel, so after 4 re-visits I have to take it back for "Wheel Wizards" to repair, but no courtesy cars available for a month so it has to wait until then.

2 I'd asked for a full 4-wheel alignment which they didn't do.

3 Was told the car had been cleaned, but it hadn't - slippy putty everywhere.

Not very pleased with Mr Benfield Toyota.

So who is this top dealer??

T W Hawkins of Ewell aren't far behind... they replaced the wheels, but made me wait for the new (hopefully) rust-free stock.  The wait will be worthwhile if the new stock is better!  And they painted the rusty hubs and callipers.

They've also provided courtesy cars without a problem and been generally polite and helpful.  Can't fault them!    s:D :D s:D
