Hi Guys / Girls,
Just been speaking to my machanic at my local dealer who seems to be in the know about 1 or 2 things......
I asked him to update me on any developments regarding the 2:
He informed me that there are currently 2 MR2 in the country being tested with 200+ BHP engines in, these I presume are tweeked Celia units.
In addition there have also be speculation that there is possibly going to be a 4WD version as well, although he thought that this was probably most unlikely to happen.
He was also suggesting that with the introduction of the RED's (which I have got to admit look pretty good, they had one in the compound) it might not be to long before the new model materialises.
You may / or may not already know all this, but I thought I'd share what I had heard, as he seems to get to know quite a few things that are going on.
Anyone else heard anything ?

Was chatting to my mate at MrT and there have been conflicting reports, it was confirmed yesterday that the new tubby will be running approx 190BHP (TTE i am SURE know more but this is what the dealer ia being told).
Oh and that its on course to be here and on sale by end of the year, like TTE said s8) 8) s8)
News to me Darren, but interesting though.. the two higher powered cars - could these be a couple of the TTE turbo testbed cars?
Any chance also of popping back to get a pic of the Red? s:wink: :wink: s:wink:

I was wondering why this 'Red' edition was being produced. Maybe there will be a new MR2 for 2005? I always thought that limited editions were brought out to help shift the last of the outgoing model?

But there was a special colour edition back in 2001 as well, Mines one of them. Then theres the special racing, Red with the white gofaster strip across the bonnet from 2002. Maybe this is just another editoon?

blah, thats just an roumor... Toyota doesnt tell their dealers that they cant order cars 8-9 months in advance, especially if they are expected to arrive up to mid 2005... that simply doesnt happen in T world, as I know it...
although new mr2 in mid 2005 is just an common sense, it would be almost an 6 year run...
