Ok as you might know, I am moving to Menorca before the end of this month and am taking my loverly 2 with me.
The tax is due to expire the end of April so I am thinking that is ok I will be gone by then so I don't need to renew it, WRONG.
I will be re registering my car over there but even though I am not driving on th UK roads I still have to have it taxed until the registration change is done, go figure.
UK goverment squeasing every penny out of me must leave for better life ......... s8) 8) s8)
I don't understand. If it's not on uk roads, it's therefore off road and applicable for SORN status, no?
As Martin say's - declare SORN on the vehicle - as long as you are not driving or storing it on public roads then you are covered.
That is what I thought, but not what they said when I rang them today as far as they are concerned if it is uk registered and still being driven even overseas it has to be taxed.
As I said they are criminally robbing us............. s:D :D s:D
they are talking rubbish. it cab be registered and anywhereyou want as long as it's not being driven on uk roads. Tell them to sod off.
Decided to ring them again spoke to a man this time and he said what I need to do is send the registration form in and mark it as the car is exported and then I do not need to tax it.
