Title: Wiring up fogs for an astra
Post by: Curlytoppz on October 16, 2011, 10:23
Be nice, Jane loves her astra but the folks on the astra owners club are morons so she has asked me to ask here.  She has bought a front bumper with fog lights for her Mk 4 and wanted to know what is needed to wire them up.  Have seen the switch on ebay and presume this is needed.  What wiring does she need to buy please and is there anything else needed.  An ebay link would be fab.

Is this the right switch?   m http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Opel ... 500wt_1204 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Opel-Astra-Mk4-headlight-switch-loom-twin-fog-light-GSi-SRi-/250900490566?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a6ad5a946#ht_500wt_1204) m

yes that switch. depending on the wiring the car might have the wires in place and just need a relay. but if you wanted to play it safe you can get a fog wire kit from halfrauds which will have what you need.

As above, you may actually find all the wiring is there ready for the, the only way to find out is to remove the bumper and have a look. Possible the same at the blank plate where the foglamp switch goes.

If you look in the fusebox it will show where the relay and fuse goes too.
Can't harm to have a look-see   s:) :) s:)

Thanks guys   s:D :D s:D    The model of car does not have the fogs as standard so I would be surprised if the wiring is there but will have a look and it might be a pleasant surprise.
