Title: Beware armour plated game birds
Post by: Anonymous on April 16, 2004, 17:21
Still haven't got my 2 back yet, the fix-its told me they have "some" parts in, but are witing on "a few more" - how many parts do they need methinks? I thought it was just bumper, rad and whatever fixings etc.

So I paid them a surprise visit this afternoon - my poor poor baby. He's in bits and looks so sad, bonnet up, no bumper, nothing in the front end except a big empty hole.   s:cry:  s:cry:   (still traces of pheasant to be seen   s:cry:  s:cry:  ). As well as the new rad & bumper etc, I also need (amongst other bits) a new condensor for the air con   s:shock:  s:shock:

Total estimate, as presented to my wonderful insurers - just over £1260.

Gobsmacked is not the word.

Blimey! You wouldn't think reasonably small wildlife could cause such damage. I used to do a lot of runs through Mid Wales, and the amount of pheasants I just missed...  s:shock:  s:shock:

Good job you didn't hit that grouse on the way to Anglesey or the pheasant on the way back then, huh?!

As for game birds, then Lara has gotta rank up there!!   s:lol:  s:lol:

Yeah Saab have a 'moose' test as well as all the other tests to test the strength of the car, particularly as Phil mentions the A pillars

I remember a funny storey about testing aircraft windows by fireing chickens at them at high speed.....one tester couldn't understand why they kept smashing the glass until it was pointed out that you are supposed to defrost them first   s:!: :!: s:!:
