Title: Heat resistant black paint
Post by: MRMike on April 30, 2004, 15:12
As I bought my Inlet pipe unpolished, and I want to make it look as OE as possible I'm going to paint it.  As Its metal I want to cut down the heat build up..anyways found this paint, which is heat resistant up to stupid temperatures..(649 C) and is black, perfect.  I've emailed a few shops, to ask about GB discount, but none i've spoke to will offer it!

Anyways i've just ordered some from this place, so I thought I'd let you know if you fancied some as well! It's actually intended for BBQ's and the like, but it will do the same as the specialist car products, but obviously there miles more expensive!

Cheers,

Mike

Hmm I would have been interested in that.  I've got some Hammerite Heatproof Matt Black spray to put on my manifold heatshield (and possibly my unpolished inlet duct as well) this weekend.

That also has a limit of around 625C but it was more expensive at £6.99.
