Title: I know it is silly but.......
Post by: Peter Laborne on May 3, 2004, 13:04
Yesterday I spent about 3.5 hours cleaning the 2...and then spent an age waxing it. I was impressed with my work, so I stood back and admired it. You know what it's like......you just stare at it thinking "lovely"...and before you know it another half hour has passed.

Then I thought I'd really treat her by putting her away in the garage. But that ment cleaning out the garage first. First thing to shift....the lawnmower. Well, considering I had to shift it I thought I might as well cut the grass. Job done, back to the garage.

Boy, I thought this would be a quick job. I didn't even notice that it had got dark. I even managed to create a mini attic as extra storage space. Two wheelie bins full of stuff and a quick sweep of the floor and I was done.

I started cleaning the 2 at 10:30am. I finallly finished treating her, by putting her in the garage at 12:30am.

And now it is raining and I need to go up the shops. My fridge currently contains 2 small chocolate bars, 4 bottles of Lucozade Sport, a bottle of Ketchup, a small jar of mint sauce and some butter....not exactly lunch material.

But it's raining. After all my hard work yesterday I'm not going to get it dirty.

Chocolate can support a man for longer than you might think...

I'm currently having the chocolate and Lucozade whilst watching the BSB's hoping that the rain will stop after the race.

had quite a bit of '2' time yesterday too! was giving the engine bay a good thorough clean (mostly because my mates always want to see the engine - JUST cos it's in the back!) as presentation is everything!

Cant help but think why toyota never dressed it up much like some other manufacturers do, like say puttimng a fancy cam cover on and not a boring black rectangle. it just looks like a boring big lump. but then it is the same engine out the avensis, rav, celica, corolla...

The story:

Last weekend a duck landed on my next door neighbours lawn, because of the totally unexpected and out of the ordinary situation, my neighbour was touched and laid a load of bread and a bucket of water out on her front lawn. Anyway, the next day, there's 8 of the beggars!!!! And the blighters wont go away and insist on camping out on our street.

Im not really an animal person, so I wasnt really paying much attention to the story. UNTIL....

Last Thursday night I managed to finish work early and get home to give my baby an early weekend treat. Washed and polished her and she was looking great!  s:D :D s:D  Get up on Friday morning, step outside to my car and.... to my shock and dis-believe, there were 6 deposits that looked like a giraffe had been passing, all over my windscreen, bonnett and drivers door. I was livid to say the least, as I had to drive to work in a mingin car covered with d**k s**t!!!

Anyway, having washed off the crap on friday night, I spent most of sunday and all of yesterday detailing her, engine bay 'en all. She was MINT! Just like you Peter, I thoroughly enjoy standing back and admiring my work, (as my next door neighbour walks out jokingly mumbling, "You sad begga")  s:D :D s:D   s:D :D s:D

So I went inside for a bit, see what was happening on 'ere. Anyway, 3 hours later, I wanted to measure my wind deflector for a custom sticker im having done with this website's url and as I step outside there are 3 HUGE deposits on the drivers door, window and side mirror. I was and still am FUMING about this!!! Those dam ducks are going, one way or another, Im going round my neighbours tonight when i get back to tell her to get rid of 'em before I do! Its gone beyond a joke now.

Do birds just aim for the shiniest cars? Those birds/ducks have ruined all my hard work...

I've decided to get myself a car cover too, I wont let this happen again...

Anyone for a Roast Duck dinner?   s:) :) s:)

Buy a gun  s:wink:  s:wink:

We've got a group of pigeon type birds living in the neighbours conifers in their back garden. The flight path back to the tree's takes in my drive way and rear patio so either way the car or I get it  s:x :x s:x

Later on in the summer we will have wild geese staying on the nature reserve near by and sure as eggs are eggs every morning they take to the sky in full cry (waking me up in the process) and fly over my car and you guessed it  s:evil:  s:evil:

I have noticed that my car gets **it on more when it's clean than when it's dirty. Now either they take aim at the reflection or they are devious little b**tards and do it deliberately  s:!: :!: s:!:

Get a life size model of an Eagle (Bird not plane) and mount it on top of your Garage or house where the pigeons/ducks will see it. They will keep away.

Or get yourself a big cat.

We've got 2 cats already. The eldest acted as a minder for 2 baby pigeons for about 5 days when they fell out of the tree's  s:roll:  s:roll:

So maybe I'll go for the eagle
