Having disconnected the battery for a recharge this weekend I noticed that when I reconnected the hazard lights were flashing but no sound from the 'alarm'. Again when I started the car, the hazard lights flashed a few times but no sound. All the flashing stopped when I locked and unlocked using the remote but I was left wondering - should I be hearing an ear piercing alarm or a few beeps even? If there should be sound then do I just need to replace the 'muted sound making thing' in the spare wheel box?
I replaced my battery this winter. I seem to remember the alarm making a blip sound when disconnected but don't remember the alarm going off on reconnection.
Could check the alarm (system) by locking the car with 2 presses on the remote and with window open, and then after minute or two leaning in/waving your arm around inside to activate the intruder sensor (are probably better methods but this should work).
Might want to open the bonnet/spare wheel bay to let out any potential sound s:P :P s:P

Or pull the frunk catch, lock the car then open the frunk, that should make the alarm go off and you kill 2 birds with 1 stone s:) :) s:)

Whilst standing on one leg? s:lol:  s:lol: So I take it that if I need to
let the sound out then it is not going to be very loud. That is a shame, I was hoping that it would be very loud if I replaced it.
Doesn't make a noise when you reconnect it.
Just test if it goes off when you trigger it.
If you want it louder, just move it from under the spare wheen to under the front plastics ... it's plenty noisy then s:crazyeyes:  s:crazyeyes:
It is 'quite' loud, but it's under the spare wheel... inside the frunk bin... under the bonnet so obviously not as loud as it could be. As above you can move it if you want it louder, there is a 'how to' somewhere.

Thanks - that answer gives me the detail that I needed. s:D :D s:D

I am going to test it tonight - I will move it if I do not get enough complaints from the neighbours s:twisted:  s:twisted:
I moved mine, welded the bracket to the side of the front bay (I have a cut down bin and varley red top up front), due to the varley I also have a kill switch. Mine on killing the power makes about 6 loud beeps. On reconnection its silent.
