Title: VX towed away.
Post by: Anonymous on May 19, 2004, 20:06
Someone in a Focus politely drove square in the back of me.  He was going really quite fast but the VX took it really well.

Dunno yet.  The exhaust is part of the rear crumple zone and has taken nearly all the damage.  He hit me really hard and fast and my neck his killing me.

Can't believe how well it held up!

Make sure you bring a claim for whiplash, £1,750 or so always comes in handy after a rear ender.   s:wink:  s:wink:

If you haven't been to the hospital or docs make sure you go as soon as possible.  The effects of whiplash tend to get worse after a few days.

Yes, I am a lawyer! But I do have a '2 so you can't hate me completely  s:) :) s:)

The lotus chassis is massively strong.  BUT, pray it isn't bent in any way as they cannot be repaired.  Bent chassis=new chassis=about £17k to repair as they essentially have to strip and rebuild your entire car.

  s:cry:  s:cry:

Fingers crossed for you mate.

s:roll:  s:roll:  I think its already been said...but damn.  Really sorry for you, and I really hope there's no lasting damage to your neck.  I'd go and see a physio as soon as poss, you don't want your neck locking in that position..Good luck!

Well the doc says I should be fine and to take the week off work.

I'll have to wait and see about the car, but I just got a check on the damage and Vauxhall think from the sounds of it at LEAST 2k for the parts.

He has hit it that hard.  The car I'm told held up really well, with the exhaust crumple zone taking the damage.

The exhaust alone wouldn't cost this much if it rusted (which they don't often because the are away from the road and the outside, but because its damaged it will probably need heat shields, pipes etc...
