Despite my grave misgivings my '2 passed its second MOT today. Hazarr!
I really thought it would fail as the exhaust sounds terrible and I have the dreaded headlamp misting. Good job he tested it in the dry then!
Time to spend some serious time and money putting everything else right now. The list is as follows:
1. 60k service (including: coolant, brake fluid and valve clearance check)
2. Fix gearbox popping out of 4th
3. Recondition all 4 wheels (big bits of rust are showing s:( :( s:( )
4. Repair vandal damage to rear deck
5. Get alignment checked
6. Fix roof headlining which has come away
Some days it feels like I'm retoring a classic car s:roll:  s:roll:
Right, where was that H&S group buy again?!

Know exactly what you mean mate! Theres always something else on the car to do isn't there?! I have a £170 Escort as my 'everyday' car, which i run on an absolute shoestring (I won't even buy an air freshener for it!). But the '2? Different story, no expense spared!
I have a Citroen AX (GT!) which ostensibly was to go hillclimbing but it has become more of an everyday car while things are being done on the '2. That gets secondhand everything and is full of bodges but seems more reliable than the MR2.
Still at least it passed.
