Post by: Anonymous on May 22, 2004, 10:17
Yep, it went in for the 10K service and some warranty work, they were replacing the input output bearings on the gearbox and they found that there more bearings that needed replacing that was causing play, so am without the car until Moday/Tuesday

SLM gave me a Prius though which is cool!!

Let me know how you get on with it! We want to order one, but they are harder to get than gold plated rocking horse pooh at the momnet witha 10 month delivery time.

The MRT here in Munich are shareing 1 Prius amoungst all the dealers for test drives!

My test drive is Tueday mid day... Cant wait.

Have been drving it about and its quite cool once you get used to it, the gearchange etc is a bit weird but as i say once you get used to it then its fine, suppose its easier if you are used to an SMT.

Apparently its only got one forward gear   s:?: :?: s:?:   Might be wrong but that's what the dealer told me.

Seats are comfy and its not too slow, the display is cool as well with all the info, its the Prius T4 apparently.

The 6 Disc changer in the dash is cool too, infact its all VERY good andn technologically advanced.

JBL stereo too......all good stuff.

we were told her that we wont be able to order Prius until 2005 at all, since there is simply so much demend in Western Europe that eastern europe wont get many... And we were supposed to get only 25 all together!

As to gear change - its CVT, i bet it feels a bit weird at start, but it gets the best out of the engine...

Where are you based? My dealer quoted 10 months delivery.

Another quoted 8 month (and showed me a Toyota Germany fax confirming this). He has already sold 20 units this year, compared to only 2 of the original units since 2000!

I know in some US states they are being quoted 2 years   s:shock:  s:shock:  but other reports in remote areas only 6 weeks.

Wow  s:shock:  s:shock:

If you're in a hurry and feeling rich, they are available over here  s;) ;) s;)  They didn't really get any tax reliefs and are pretty expensive, starting from above 40te without any options...you don't even get floor mats at that price  s:? :? s:?
