Well got round to fitting the footwell lights and now having a problem
the two star fixings for the roof will not budge tried fluid, star fitting with a spanner and as of yet no joy
any ideas as I would be most grateful s:D :D s:D
how did you get from the footwell to the roof?
taking off all the windscreen plastic trim to find a wire s:) :) s:)
Be really careful with those bolts, they ar put in with threadlock and have been known to shear off. Nathan had to drill one out when one snapped. Always use the best quality tools to fit the head of the bolt you can, to reduce the possibility of rounding off the inner slots. Maybe try turning to tighten a very small amount before undoing.
Personally, I'd try and find an alternative to removing it if I could.
As above... can you not tap into the wires lower down where they are accessible??
on the the door switch itself another idea
No need to tap into the doom light or door switch. On UK cars you can tap into the wires in the passenger footwell. You're making life very hard for yourself. Removing those hardtop latch bolts are a right pain as Nige said, id be very careful!
well having now read the advise
going down a different route windscreen plastics all back in place s:D :D s:D
thanks for the advise

Deffo avoid the DOOM light, that's a whole can of worms you don't want to open. Think apocolypse! s:flame: :flame: s:flame: s:flame: :flame: s:flame: s:lol:  s:lol:
There are 2 white connectors in the upper part of the footwell. By unconnecting one of those, it will turn your interior light off. This is the one you need to tap into taking a negative switched feed. You then just need to pick up a perm positive on one of the big connectors in the lower part of the footwell. IIRC theres a big white connector and a white wire going into it thats live.
This may help possibly ?
