I will. All the reviews I've seen are pretty good. Sat in my mates car and it sounded great and he said it has very easy fittings on the back. Not sure if I'll buy in at halfords on the way home or save £20 and wait for it to be delivered.

I really like that Nath. I still like my Sony because I don't need a switch for the aerial and it was only £115, but it is annoying only having a 1 line display due to a CD slot that I'll never use.

Its got that many options on there i havent had chance to play with them all yet. It is however fairly simple to use. I was sick of all the cd's rolling around the car which are now scratched and jump anyway. My old stereo had an issue with the facia which im still trying to resolve or i wouldnt have replaced it.

This has a Parrot built in so connects to your phone by Bluetooth. This works fine for me with normal steady driving or at a stand still. My exhaust tone on the motorway doesnt help people hearing you on the other end  s:( :( s:(  standard exhausts should be ok. It does however upload your phone book each time you connect so you can call from the stereo rather than having to touch the phone itself

It has an SD card but it also has a USB which i can plug my iphone 5 into. This is fully controlled again by the stereo and seems to work great giving an even better sound than CD.

You can control the cross-over seperately which is handy.

Colour wise you can change the button colours and the main display again seperately to one of around 20 different options. Theres even a fetching pink colour in there   s:wink:  s:wink:

There was one odd thing about this stereo though   s:? :? s:?   I recently did the ariel window switch mod (with the help of Amer) and cut into a wire on the back of my Sony harness. The Sony harness didnt work with this stereo so i had to get another from Halfords (£18   s:scared: :scared: s:scared:  ) when they are £3 from ebay so best to order at the same time if you need one. Oddly it would appear the amp remote wire also controls the ariel according to the handbook. The ariel now goes up once the stereo is on. I just need to find another wire that controls the ariel and cut into that. Oh one other thing.. the graphic EQ visuals dont seem to relate to the song playing in any way  s:? :? s:?  although this doesnt bother me.

I always assumed that the stereo itself would have little affect on my sub setup given that i have an amp feeding it. However this stereo has lifted the sub and it sounds far more rich. The whole setup sounds like it has more depth and richness.

I looked at alot of stereo reviews. For the money this seemed to give you a lot of features. What i did notice coming across reviews is that Kenwood often came out on top for sound quality alone and this was the only reason i started to look towards Kenwood. Ive always been a Sony person previously.

I got mine from Ebay worked out about the cheapest

To be honest I'm surprised manufacturers are still making the majority or their stereos with CD players in them?
Does make you wonder though, with car manufacturers building their cars with custom built in stereos which have vastly improved in quality in recent years and with new media integration and the stereo doubling up as a control unit for other displays and sat navs will the demand for traditional single and double din units fall off to the point of extinction or certainly a lot less choice?

Well,I fitted the Kenwood today.
I already had a single din conversion so probably easier than a full conversion.
Getting the old Panasonic out that was installed by professionals was a pita purely because they took a couple of shortcuts, but once the old unit was removed the Kenwood just plugged in and slid in. Then cam the most annoying setup possible. You can only tune the radio using pty so you need to know the genre you're looking for. Then  reception wasn't great where i was so i went to a hilltop to do the tuning properly. Oodles of options for setting up the speakers. I haven't tried the deck or SD card slot yet, they will be sorted over the coming week. I've installed the mic and paired the HU with my 'phone and it works a treat.

Sound quality is far superior to the Panasonic, bear in mind i have upgraded the door speakers already and have passive crossovers for the tweeters.

I used to work in Halfords as a car audio specialist (well, they gave me that title and let me figure everything out for myself!), they used to sell a head unit, Sony i think, that didn't have a CD slot, but had a tray that popped out, that you can plug your iPod into and slide it back in. Was a very smart piece of kit, although was a single DIN, the double DIN's look so much more impressive in my opinion   s:) :) s:)
