Title: Disable alarm
Post by: LeeUK on December 10, 2012, 22:00
My alarm is constantly being set off and I'm on the verge of taking it to be disabled by Toyota unless anyone on here can tell me how you disable the alarm? I have no user manual with the car, however I do not believe there is necessarily a specific fuse for the alarm. Please help as its driving me nuts!

May be the sensitivity of your alarm needs turning down a tad. If it is a UK supplied car, then there's a box behind the drivers seat under the carpet (you have to unbolt the cubby door to peel the carpet out a bit). Adjusts with a little screw driver I believe.

Unplug the sounder or adjust the sensitivity of it by the box behind the carpet behind the drivers seat, could be a sign of a low battery in this weather though.
This might help.    l viewtopic.php?f=9&t=26913&hilit= (http://www.mr2roc.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=26913&hilit=) l

seeing as how your car has no interior i suggest you need to turn down the microwave sensitivity

In the meantime, turn off the inner sensors, press the lock button 3 times, and I think that turns them off.

Thanks all, I figured out the 3 presses by luck which has done the trick. Ill be stripping the carpet out soon so will adjust the microwave sensor with my hammer.
